I had this idea that I would like to see a more rustic type of fence added to the game. Seen in middle ages movies, those walls made of logs with points ontop would be a worthwhile addition to minecraft.
I would like to see it crafted the same way as typical fences, just out of logs.
They are more resource intensive than other fences. TO justify their existence, it would be yet another texture to play with (which for me is reason enough for virtually any addition) plus, they could act as spider defense. Since spiders easily climb your walls and fences, making them of pointy log fences could damage them and knock them back (or ANYTHING/ANYONE) who comes in contact with the tops. You would be able to stack them, making them grow with the top most row being the pointy one.
It's a simple idea with some basic utility that is yet to be added in the game in the form of spider defense and would be fun for making outposts with.
Spike traps and moats also become feasible with this as one block of spiked logs can easily double as the spike block that was rumored to be added at some later point.
Perfect idea, love it, allows for more variation among fences (which I have always wanted), and better decoration for medieval towns and castles. I would say they would be much thicker than normal fences though.

In my head, I imagined them as being a full block width but being comprised of 4 beams with four spikes on top so that they contrast with the appearance of regular logs a bit. But there's no reason they couldn't be a single log's space with one point on top.
