This is an idea I've heard about before, I just want to share it. Reinforced glowstone would be made by possibly surrounding an obsidian block with glowstone blocks and would give eight reinforced glowstone (if you think the recipe is unbalanced, tell me). Reinforced glowstone would have the same hardness and blast resistance as obsidian - it would be unaffected by explosions and wold be hard to break. I was thinking it could have a great place in survival/adventure maps and CTM maps, if the creator wanted explosions to cause structural damage, but still wanted a guaranteed light source in a certain area (that wasn't lava). Let me know what your opinion is, and if you think there's a place for this in minecraft.
I'm not a fan of this idea... it doesn't really have much point outside of maps, and even in maps there are mods which stop explosions. I think it would be better if there was just some sort of thing which can give any block that level of hardness, so that it doesn't just affect glowstone too.
Some map makers don't want their maps to require mods. Also, I do like the idea of being able to reinforce anything.

You might want two separate blocks that act the same but have different hardness and/or blast resistance.
(It would be crafted with just obsidian and a glowstone, nothing fancy)
