I was thinking about New Year's and realized that as an international and intercultural game that Minecraft could show off a bit more. Chinese New Year's! (Disclaimer: I'm not Chinese.) I was thinking of a good way to add Lung Dragons using the Dragon Egg and making water a tad more interesting (no insult to Squids). It would work like this in my view, but suggestions (and artwork) are welcome!
Spawn: Within about 10 meters of a Dragon and must spawn in water.
Types: Neutral water mob, living.
Appearance: As a somewhat long dragon (any color?) that has an undulated look. About 3 meters long and 2 meters tall in block volume. (It can't turn in a narrow space either.) They have no wings and do not fly.
Behavior: Normally they just swim around and bob they're heads into the water occassionally, but can be provoked. If the player either attacks them or breaks the Dragon Egg they will ram the player if they are still in the water. If the Lung Dragon follows the player onto land they will start spitting Fire Charges at them at a rate somewhat slower than a Blaze and will try to fight at medium range like a Skeleton. They will attack singly if attacked, but if a group is present and the Dragon Egg is broken they will attack as an entire group.
Drops: Fire Charges as a common drop. A new Dragon Egg (you still probably beat the Ender Dragon to get one) as a rare drop. Any ideas for more drops?

This would be interesting to see, but it may just be better off in a mod.
I do however like the concept very much, if it was a mod I would use it 24/7 because it's really cool. Just maybe not quite for official implementation.
Using the Dragon Egg to attract them is a given. that way you don't have to worry about the Biome. Exact stats and drops could be easily adjusted. What do you think needs adjusting the most?

I know some coders, but unfortunately I'm still looking for someone that works in Java. Maybe this could even be expanded into a Far East mod? I love that kind of stuff! (Suddenly thinks of Oni living in the Nether.) I could see into talking with the Mo' Creature team over my idea for the Lung Dragon.

I like the idea of adding this into Mo' Creatures. I feel like it should be closer to legend, though, and tame-able.
I recommend making them passive, unless one of their eggs is stolen. (like ostriches. also like ostriches, a stolen egg could be hatched into a tame lung) Also, they could have variations based on biome and be a rare spawn, somewhat like wither skeletons.

Shiny!->
I was gonna make a cool signature pic...But then I got bored and discovered Dragon Cave.
Sense long dragons generally have power over the elements of wind and water I think the dragon should cause thunder ( that doesn't light things to flame, again water powers) to strike down in your general direction.
New ideas:
1. Weather Control. A Lung Dragon signals that one has spawned by automatically toggling the downfall on. They will direct lightning at meat-bearing livestock (but wind up converting Pigs into Zombie Pigmen). If angry at a player they will direct lightning at a player if they get far enough away to make their other attacks unusable. This can be avoided by running into a Biome that doesn't support lightning.
2. Taming. Lung Dragons can be tamed and healed by Cooked Porkchops. They can also be healed by any cooked meat. They can be ridden with a Saddle, but a lure similar to Carrot-on-a-Stick is unneeded. They can be ridden over land or water.
