I am suggesting that we add a supersonic sensor to minecraft. What it would do would be that it would sense if an entity or block (other than air) is in a certain area. It would do this by sending a sound, and seeing how long it took for the sound to get back. when it knows that something is in the specified range, it gives a redstone signal that lasts as long as it continues to know that something is in the specified range.
I am not describing a BUD switch. A BUD switch only does something when a block right next to it is updated, and a BUD switch does not respond when an entity is just there.
