As some of us know the redstone update is coming around. I have been thinking of some of my own redstone ideas of my own i think would be really astetic and balanced as well.
1. I was thinking of adding an ability to dye redstone lamps to any of the provided colors. I think this would give a nice feel in survival, adventure maps, and cool looking redstone screens.
2. I also have always been annoyed buy the fact that there was no way to do instant vertical redstone. So i thought that if we could mix redstone and slime balls together we could get sticky redstone. this would be able to stick to walls and go up or down. to give it some sort of disadvantage maybe it could only travel 7 blocks or could only "hook up" to regular redstone through some other block similar to a repeater, so it would not completely replace regular redstone.
3. I was thinking of some sort of way to make compasses point to other places. and i came up with a magnet idea. Im not exactly sure what a balanced recipe would be but i think it would need to be quite expensive because its basically waypoint to wherever you want (of course you can always just copy coordinates i feel an in-game item would be cool) it would also be useful in adventure maps.
Thanks guys i hope my ideas sound good to you and I'm open to any criticism. i would like to know if my ideas are dumb or good.
Magnet and dyed redstone lamps seem good, but vertical redstone... Well, you have it balanced. Maybe 1 slimeball per 4 dust? And then you'd also be able to make sticky repeater stuff?

Honestly you have some pretty sick ideas
I prefer redstone to be tricky though
Allows for more awe in the whole thing
Some of those looks cool like the lamp
