Hello, Minecraft connoisseurs! Theodore here, with a helpful contribution to our adored cubed game. It comes to no surprise that Minecraft has greatly evolved and changed since its Beta days. I wish to help aid in that progress and revolutionize possible future updates to come. I have an idea for an innovative and simple solution too some problems I’m sure a lot of us (Minecraft enthuses) have endured. I have one main solution to present.
“Half slabs” ~ are great blocks, with many artistic capabilities. But they can do SO much more! My idea in short is to make a “Vertical half slab”. Now keep in mind they are not the regular slabs. This in plain may sound odd but let me explain. My desire is for it to perform exactly like a normal half slab. But be vertical! This definitely will make space significantly less taken up by bulky standard square blocks. When you place one down it will act just like a half slab in which it is placed depending on how low or high you aim your mouse.
Crafting of the item: Take the same number of blocks you normally would for half slab and put them vertical in the crafting table. It could go 3 up of the same block. I was eager this could work for wool along with other blocks too but knowing Minecraft, and the strict restrictions I think the best I would get is the standard type of half slab blocks; Wood, Stone, and Sandstone. I was hoping maybe wool could be added but they haven’t done much with wool lately and probably not going to do much in the future.
Reasons: My first reason for thinking of this idea came later on when I got a lot better at Minecraft, plus building for awhile and realizing that there could be a way to improve the inventory. I was working on building this grand map of this real School and soon realized that my grand structure was not very realistic…And my remarkable OCD power made sure this would bother the f*** out of me. When I placed blocks for the outside wall I realized that placing a different type of colored block inside the structure made it look to thick in the walls. Even placing a door it still didn’t take away the relentless aggravation I suffered. I soon thought of other ways to make my school and it did end up making the school look nice but the doors stayed the same height… So in conclusion it looked outlandish. Also I would like to say that recently people have been talking about Nether half bricks, and I’m just wondering why we don’t have half slab for the others blocks. Once you have that coding for one, why not do that for others, Jeb? But anyways I hope I didn’t waste your time. I would love to know if you like this idea or if not leave me a comment to help me improve!
Note:I'm not the best descriptor I am hoping to post a video of this idea and others to give you a better idea of what I meant.
I've suggested this in the past, as have many others no doubt. It wouldn't be too difficult for them to implement it - placing it would function exactly like placing stairs.
