Hello. I am a follower of the thread called Colored Glass. That thread is sadly dead now, and all my hopes for colored light seemed to have disappeared.
This led me to the creation of this topic, where I introduce you to my new solution and ideas for how and why colored light must by implemented, colored glass or not.
My idea consists of the ability to craft redstonelamps together with dyes in order to color the lamp and its' light in a desired color. The concept is simple, and unlike colored glass, which depended on coding that isn't even remotely possible with the current game-engine, my idea simply adds a grayscale redstonelamp-texture and a new depth to the un-avoidable re-writing of the current light engine.
Not only does the ability to create colored lights expand all aspects of decoration and the ability to give an area its' own feelings, but it could also correlate with the new feature of a possible light-detector. By giving the light detector a color-filter even more advanced contraptions could be created!
Seeing as the current light-engine is completely corrupted and is in dire need of a re-whrite - and is already promised to be re-written! - the implementation of colored lights couldn't be more accurate! I my self am not a coder, so I can't say my myself whether this is a possibility or not, but please respond and tell me what you think about it. The allocator seems to have made its way to Vanilla - So could this!
Please support this thread if you agree with me, and thinks that the implementation of colored light is needed!
I have searched the forums, and I find that my idea is unique, though there are similar suggestions mine will stand alone as it brings together both redstone-aspects and decorative aspects and fuse them together to a light-block expansion without any competition from similar suggestions.
I haven't been around for a while, when I went away there was all this constant talk of how impossible it was with colored glass, so I figured that I might as well simplify it and make my own twist on it.
