Ever had a time when you were just adventuring, and night began to fall? No time to build a house or make anything to protect yourself? I'm sure most of you haven't, but it can be irritating. Rather than sleeping or crafting or whatever you could be throughout the night, you find yourself fighting because you didn't get a house up fast enough. Even if you try, you'll get that "ssssssss" and "*Your name* blew up" eventually. Isn't there a way we can protect against that?
Well, now there is with the Clay Golem!
The Clay Golem is exactly what you'd expect it to be. A golem made out of clay. It's made like the Iron Golem, but using Clay Blocks rather than Iron. These are similar to the Iron Golems, but with a lot less health, they do a lot less damage, and are a lot easier to make.
Here's the Clay Golem's stats compared to the Iron Golem.
Clay Golem:
15 hearts of health
2 - 5 hearts of damage
Low attack range
Low knockback
Drops 3 - 5 clay upon death (3 - 5 bricks if on fire, no clay)
Gives 0 XP
Iron Golem:
50 hearts of health
4.5 to 10.5 hearts of damage
High attack range
High knockback
Drops 3 - 5 iron ingots and 0 - 2 roses upon death
Gives 0 XP
The Clay Golems have the same spawning mechanics as an Iron Golem, requiring 10 villagers and 21 doors all within a certain radius. Now, you may be asking yourself, "What's the advantage of this?" The advantage is simple:
You can have a few Iron Golems guarding your village or home...
...Or many Clay Golems.
Anyway, to get into technical terms (the unimportant stuff that has a bit less to do with this):
Similar concepts have been suggested before. Quite a few times, but I could only find two of the same concept that were actually CLAY, but the overall concept is used all the time. Random Common Material + Pumpkin = Weaker-than-Iron Golem.

It's hard criticizing ideas when one is tired, so you'd better appreciate it when I criticize yours.
But, whats the point? if your adventuring and night comes, you can build an emergency shelter. (which is basically digging 3 blocks down and putting dirt above you). so there's no point in having to build a weak and pointless golem.
