Growth potions, can be by a sapling surrounded by gold bars/nuggets. put into the stand will make a growth potion that add a slight effect of every positive potion thingie for like 10 seconds, if the fermented eye is added it will make a stunt potion wich will do all the bad nasty shiz for 10 seconds.
Mayby a little op but if its only for 10 seconds its probbaly ok in MC and PvP
I think Haste and Resistance need another ingredient. A whole new ore and a crop just for a potion? Maybe it could use an existing crop(don't know which one, but not melons or carrots as they already have golden carrot and glistering melon) with an Emerald? Maybe with Cocoa Beans to make ''Bejeweled Beans''? I also think potion of haste should be brewable with Golden Apples.

Corn has other uses, it would be used for breeding cows (instead of wheat) and be edible. Rubies could gain other uses, as well. And golden apples for haste makes no sense, considering how they give you regeneration already.
I still think you should suggest Potion of Decay. You must admit, it is a good idea, so long as a single potion cannot kill a healthy person. It would be more of a Harming that is delayed than a Poison that can kill you.

It's hard criticizing ideas when one is tired, so you'd better appreciate it when I criticize yours.

Seems to be both to me, but I'm thinking it's more of an "it's an effect exclusive to wither and wither-ish things" than "it's OP so the player can't get it".
Maybe for Creative, though, but I wouldn't want to see Potions of Decay in vanilla.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

Actually, Notch was planning a Potion of Decay before Jeb was planning The Wither.
I know this to be true, because Jeb originally said he was going to improve the Ender Dragon before adding new bosses. Apparently, he changed his mind, and I don't think he would plan a new boss before he decided to implement a new boss.

A) That appears to say nothing about the Potion of Decay, just that Jeb felt that he would rather add a sucky boss rather than improve a sucky boss.
You kind of have to plan a new boss to implement a new boss... it's only logical.
C) Where is Notch in all of this? I only see you claiming that Notch planned the potion, then going off about how Jeb was going to improve the Enderdragon somehow yet instead decided to make the Wither.

Notch planned the potion before Jeb became lead dev, and Jeb planned the Wither after he became lead dev. Simple, really.

Edited the blindness potion section. You would have to add an inc sack to a nausea potion to get the blindness potion. However, blindness lasts for a very short time: as long as a poison/regeneration II potion.
2. Potion of Blindness should be attained through the corruption of the Potion of Night Vision. Invisibility can be brewed some other way. It's overpowered anyway.
3. There are some materials that need some love that don't have any Alchemical use. Why not use some of them instead of new mobs?
The potion was planned before the Wither. I already said that.
But you still have no proof that Notch planned it. I said decided to implement, not implement.
All right, then. For chronology. Notch planned the potion before Jeb became lead dev, and Jeb planned the Wither after he became lead dev. Simple, really.
All right, then where's the proof of Notch planning it? I see nothing there.
Basically, you said that Jeb was planning to improve the Enderdragon but decided that he would rather improve the Wither. There is the possibility that Notch wanted to put in the Potion of Decay, but there is no proof that he did it. It doesn't seem likely that he would, though, since the Wither effect is basically a stronger Poison; it wouldn't make much sense to have a better version of an effect when none of the other effects have a better version. Besides, nothing prior to the Wither screams "decay" or "wither" that isn't OP, but then again Notch could have planned a different ingredient (or the Wither) before then.
I still don't think that what you say is true. IMO, the Wither effect was created for the Wither, not the other way around.

Technically, an object would have to be darker than all of it's surroundings for that sort of thing.
Bah, who cares about technicalities?
The real problem with that idea is that Glowstone Blocks aren't actually difficult to attain.
For any other potion, that might not be a problem, but for invisibility it doesn't work out.
Okay, both JakeVon and Koldstare: Decay was originally not in the game's code until recently. It was made for the Wither during the 1.4 snapshots. Notch did not make it nor did it exist in 1.0, 1.2, or 1.3. The potion of decay was given a name most likely for the new NBT potions, but it could mean there is a future for a decay potions in vanilla.
What about multiple effects for potions? Use a potion as an ingredient, and it gives its effects to the other potions. Since that would be possible, it would be possible to use water to lower both the potency and the duration. Maybe redstone always causes a lengthening of time (up to the max and without decreasing potency) and glowstone always increases potency (up to the max and without decreasing time).
The potion brewing system as always felt incomplete to me. All the potions are crafted using a single base, and the other base potions do nothing at all. I've always gotten the impression that they rushed the feature into the game before they were finished with it.

No, they could have up to four effects or so in ye olde days. I have pictures, if you want 'em.
