We should be more realistic with the villages now that we have anvils in 1.4.2
Adding an anvil instead of worthless stone slabs is much more realistic because it is a blacksmith shop, so what blacksmith doesn't have an anvil in his shop
And perhaps Dinnerbone could add those lecterns he was working on, not only to display books, but also add to the church/temple. Maybe villager trading windows could have more than just "Villager", and instead have "Priest" or "Blacksmith".
I completely agree tho, that an anvil would be better suiting. If there was a reason they wouldn't do that, it would be because an anvil is an extremely expensive block, but even then, its not like they can't generate the anvil with a little wear and tear.
I support this. But personally I would prefer to see villages generate flat. Not even squidwards should have to jump up half their height daily just to walk around. And generating right on top of a cave or a ravine? Seriously?
But yes, anvils in blacksmiths buildings is an excellent idea.

Why do people have youtube Minecraft videos that claim to be current version but were uploaded months ago?
I was thinking the same thing while exploring my village. It is (relatively) simple to implement and would be really useful to have.
Though the anvil should be slightly damaged to simulate use.
Sounds fitting, so support. Villages really do need more new features, like stone fences and corner stairs on roofs. If anything it might be a little overpowered if it still has all its uses left, but its only one so Id be okay with having a fresh one.

However, since having an enchantment table will usually mean you'll have enough iron for an anvil, it wouldn't be game-breaking to find a village.
Support from me.
