I'm creating an adventure map and I want my towns to be populated, but I don't want the players to be able to trade with ALL the villagers, only the ones I designate to be shop keepers. I'm quite sure this would be a very useful rule.
The answer is simple. Just don't give the players emeralds, gold, coal, iron, raw beef, raw pork, raw chicken, cooked fish, books, paper.... actually, you could just make the villagers mad enough to not trade. Or just use the villagers you want a shopkeepers.
If you have an NBT editor, then this can be solved. Simply make sure none of them have trades that the players will be able to do, apart from the ones you want the player to trade with.
