infection is rare and randomly spawns in a tree. The infection will make the tree grow giant branches , underground roots, and on ground roots. The roots will destroy different blocks it touches . when it destroys a block it consumes it and sometimes does auto crafting. say it destroys supplies for a bow and some arrows [ spiders give it the string. It might acctualy shoot arrows at player. To kill it you must pour lave on any part of it, have it consume tnt or kill it at the place it started. It will give 10 of the things it destroyed.
This sounds... I can't say good and I can't say bad. It's just odd.

It might be a very hard enemy though. Say you go mining and it makes its way into your house
Oh in that case? God no. I can deal with an Enderman taking a block from my house because it is made of dirt. I can deal with a Creeper blowing up my wall because I was near it and was not careful. But if a mob is going to go into my house and wreck it on a large scale by pure chance, even if I am not there, no way do I want to deal with that.

No support. It isn't realistic that a tree would come and destroy everything in its way. Yes, the roots will destroy stuff in its path to make room for its roots, but it doesn't do it to attack. I stick to reality, and if something is non-realistic and I like it, I'll say yes to it. But I don't like this idea. It's too hard and it just makes no sense. Yes, creepers aren't realistic. But they make sense and I like them. The Wither isn't realistic but it makes sense (I think of it as a robot) and I like it. But this tree idea? Okay, if the infection was to make it form into crazy shapes, okay, that's realistic. But to make it form bigger and to come to destroy everything just for the joy of destroying? No way.

4 blocks per 60 seconds? One hour of mining underground would mean little to no house left for most people just casually playing survival.

I am ninja'd far too often.
