I was playing Skyblock lately, and I came up with an idea that could be used to benefit players in certain ways.
(This may come out being too op, but it's just a suggestion)
Water dripping:
If you are growing crops outside (Wheat, Pumpkins, Potatoes, etc.) And you happen to be in a very large snow biome, you do not get the advantage of rainfall on the crop because it snows instead of raining. But there is a solution.
When there is water above a block, you may notice it drips down onto the block below it. This could be used as more than a visual object, but also as a rain-source.
Of course, seeing as rain moves much faster than dripping water, it would only grant slight bonuses. For example; if Rainfall gave a +100% bonus in growth, then dripping water would give a +10 or +20% bonus in growth.
There are my suggestions, if you like the idea then you can +1 and leave a response below.
Also I will have a support list going, if you want to support, then just say so and I will add you to the list.
And finally, you can vote on the Poll as to what you rate this idea

hmm realism but not the obnoxious sort. I gotta admit its handy though a bit manipultable as you can get the rain effect with just a bucket now. also means some adv maps may need a bit of re-work, but i love throwing them a curveball.
I think the drips are just for aesthetic purposes, I don't really want to put two layers on the bottom of my lava pool- especially if its under a wooden floor : P

haha yeah that bit was just a sort of shot in the dark, just if people prefer it. Maybe it would only work for plants? Wooden floors catching fire all the time would be fairly annoying I think. But the main idea is the water dripping, the lava was just to branch out a bit
You don't see water/lava dripping thru if your particles are off.
Plus, it's only there to signify when you're about to surface into a fiery (or watery) death
Not entirely, and maybe it could be fixed so it always is?
EDIT: Noticed you said dripping already is in the game, so NVM about that, but why would we need the water dripping through blocks to water plants, just place a source water block and it waters blocks in a pretty big radius, without any annoying drips.

The idea of this is to give plants a small bonus to growth time, allowing for quicker farming, having a source block near the water keeps the plants alive but doesn't grow them faster, didn't you read? It's like when it's raining, how plants grow faster, but instead it's water drops.
How is this even nearly OP? Anyway, I think this is a nice, balanced idea for farming. Piggles approves. Also, as a bonus maybe drips could also slightly harm endermen and blazes.

Be caring, please help my dragon hatch by giving him a little click.
While I do like the idea of dripping water actually doing something, I don't think it should improve growth rate. Maybe it could hydrate the farmland without, say, irrigation, but that's it. Rain, on the other hand, I would like to see, but probably not have it give a +100% growth rate.

It's hard criticizing ideas when one is tired, so you'd better appreciate it when I criticize yours.

The +100% growth rate is just an example, i don't know exactly how much the bonus of rain is, but I just figure that seeing as rain drops land ON the plant itself, and irrigation sits next to the farmland, but does not directly get onto the plants. That's why I suggested it.

I liked the addition of Liquids dripping through some Blocks, and this just makes that more awesome.

Probably true, I'm gonna change the post, get rid of the Lava idea

I've been thinking about that actually, to be honest water wouldn't be able to leak through a solid piece of stone.
