Before I begin, no I'm not a whacked out nostalgic who wants Minecraft to be brought back to the way it was in Alpha.
The Flash Back Biome
This biome's value would other be known as "Past".
This would be a rare biome, not as rare as Mushroom biomes, but rare. This biome is a full presentation of the old Minecraft indev maps. The biome will use similar generation code as Indev was, but will be slightly different. The biome color will be the exact color as indev, which is a pure(puke) neon green. The biome is almost a "marsh" type forest, like it was in indev. The caves will also generate similarly as they did in the indev. In other words, this biome is an exact replica of the indev stages of Minecraft.
The few differences about it will be:
All ores spawn normally
Current mobs will spawn
You can still find abandoned Mineshafts and strongholds
There really is nothing special about the biome except for it having it's own special generation, and generated structure. This generated structure, is none other than the old indev house.
Inside this house, is stone flooring, two torches, along with a single chest filled with 3-8 pieces of TNT.
Here's is a nice photo of what it might look like.

I can't really imagine Jeb or anyone else taking the time to put this kind of "biome" back in the game. Also, not everyone's Minecraft nostalgia will be of the same experience. It looks like the closest outcome for this is to just play Classic or any other older version found elsewhere.

Well I just thought it would be a fun little biome you could find in current Minecraft. It actually wouldn't take too much time to implement though.

It's usually best to refrain from saying things like "it wouldn't take too much time to implement", because you never know what trial-and-error programming it takes to make such a thing. Just because something "looks" or "feels" like it'd be easy, doesn't mean it is. This would also have to be programmed in a way where it doesn't add more bugs or cause damage to something else in the game.
I'm not saying your idea is bad, but there isn't much reason for this to be added to vanilla, other than to give people a nostalgic feeling. And those wooden plank houses look like complete crap. I'd hate for the game to randomly generate that.

It did once generate, along with all those awesome floating islands.
When Indev was started, players were greeted with the newly added title screen, and the options to create a map or load a previous map. When creating a map, players had to assign four characteristics to their maps, the type, the shape, the size and the theme. The map would then be created and spawn them in an "Indev House". An Indev House was a 7 block wide x 7 block long x 4 block tall structure, with a 1 x 2 hole for players to exit and two torches on the interior. The House would be formed around the player's spawn point. An Indev House began made of moss stone (which was unavailable naturally on the map anywhere else) and chests filled with TNT, a full stack (99 at the time) of every type of block and every type of item. As Indev progressed from testing items and blocks to testing the actual survival aspect, these chests were removed. Later still, the design of the house was changed. The floor was made stone and the walls and roof were made of planks.
It did once generate, along with all those awesome floating islands.
I thought floating islands still generated sometimes. I can't recall the last time I seen an "Indev" biome during beta (I never played alpha). But it had to have been removed for a reason.

What?

You could easily use any texture in Minecraft as a green screen, but I would agreed, as I said:
It shows for me... and apparently for others.

No it wasn't.
