The dyeing ability for the leather armor is freaking excellent. A million thank-yous for this! The endless color combinations is more than I hoped for! I didn't know that you could even implement that. But now that I know you can...
Why stop there?
PLEASE! I beg you to allow the wool to be dyed in the same way that the armor is allowed. We need it. I need it. You need it.
And while we're on the topic, I know it's totally unrealistic that iron armor could be dyed, but when you consider that armor made from diamond is fairly unrealistic in itself, it would be excellent if we could dye armor that we actually USE on a regular basis. Armor that has decent AV.
Thank you for your time and for this amazing update again. I'm overwhelmed and now am chomping at the bit to dye wool in the same manner that you're allowing leather armor to be dyed.
Fair point regarding the dyeing other armor making leather redundant. I suppose it DOES give leather a boost that it's needed for some time. Still want it though.
Don't understand why it would be difficult to dye wool in the same way the armor is dyed.
And I'm stuck on what the problem is with my title. I meant to say "unto" if that's what your referring to. If there's a problem, I'd be happy to fix it.
Each block can only have 16 damage values, and the wool block uses up all 16 for all the colors. If you wanted all the new colors for wool, it would take a huge amount of new blocks with filled up damage values, that's why they didn't implement that.
This....would e very hard. Would sheep be able to be dyed as well? This would make.....over 12,000 different kinds of sheep. I am one of those guys who likes having all colors on hand at once. This would take forever and a day to create....and cause as much lag as a hyperspawner. No support.
Well, about 12,326,391 actually. I read the wiki wrong. But you could probably cover the basics with only a few million sheep farms!
Actually, I was thinking that it would just be the blocks combining the colors of the dye as it wouldn't make new dyes, thus only the 16 colors of sheep.
I did not know about the damage values of the wool blocks. Thank you for explaining that. And golly if I don't know anything about how to get around it either. Shears or a new tool designed specifically for wool destruction? Maybe someone else has a better, more tech-y way?
It seemed like it would be simpler than the complex armor that fits over our characters and "moves" around.
