Something that is really annoying is when you build a house, and you realize that your surrounded by only one mob, I recently built a house in an extreme hills biome and then I realized that everywhere was sheep. There was not a single cow, pig or chicken for miles. I think that the mob spawning should be changed so that there are not too many animals of the same type in one area
I know this idea sounds small but it would make a big difference
PS: this idea is not asking to increase the spawn rate or making animals start despawning but instead to make the animals have a bit more variety in the types of animals you find in an area
The way mobs spawn now is like a 1.8 or 1.9 update, it used to be widely spread, like you want it. I forget why they changed it, but you're right, this way is better. Support!

Yeah, it's that mobs spawn 400x less than before. I really liked 1.7.3, but I love enchanting and hunger and most of the other new features. I suggest you make your house in an area that has every mob except chicken. Chickens you can transport eggs.

I completely agree, the older version I could just put a hole outside my house and I would still catch a fair few mobs, now because of mobs not despawning I had to walk 4 minecraft days just to get chicken

All mobs can be transported with bait, but the issue is it takes so long to find these animal

The despawning problem is worse with SMP, because once people have a farm, they just kill ALL the wild animals for food. Generally don't kill any wild pigs/cows/sheeps/chickens until you have a farm.

Well not really. First of all check all directions (unless ocean or desert) so you could possibly find, trap, and reproduce animals for food. If you're that hungry then eat bread.Besides one way is to wait around 20 minutes with a lot or an adequate amount of grass, then you would place in non-desert/ocean

This is not just about food, It is about being able to find the animals, I am just asking for the spawning system to be changed so that there won't be only one mob everywhere you look

I completely agree. Before Spawn Eggs, I had to walk for ages to find a single sheep to get back to my (Creative mode) village, then I had the problem of getting it back...

Its even worse in survival

I think the main problem might be that certain animals spawn more often in certain biomes (sheep in extreme hills, wolves in tiaga, ocelot in jungles and so on)

Don't like Cows? Think Minecraft needs to be more Interesting? Why not try bears: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1549234-bears/page__hl__ bears#entry18964936

I don't really think anyone would care whether it makes sense, or put any thought into it. Gameplay is more important than realism
He means the not despawning problem, stupid misinterpretation

He means them the update making them not despawn, causing them to not respawn, vary and be found
