Thossssse are sssssome nice catsssss you have there.”Haha, I do have cats. You can’t come near me now!" HAHAHAHAH BOOOOOM!!! The only creeper in the world not afraid of cats just had to find you, didn’t it.
I was thinking of a block like this also, I was thinking it would be cool if you could put a beacon block on its side and use a block like this to rotate it like a light house, just place the pyramid with the beacon on its side and then this on top to rotate the beacon block, thought it would be better in that scenario if you could have more points of rotation other then 90 degrees (maybe programmable via right click menu).
I was also thinking it would be neat to attach a tool to it (sword or pickax) and have it accumulate hits on a block each rotation and after so many (depending on the tool material or enchantment) it would break the block. the tool would still take damage and eventually break also. but you could use it to automatically mine cobblestone with a cobblestone generator, or use it as a trap with a rotation sword.

well with swords or a pickaxe it could become sort of wall trap.
and the 90 degrees woldnt matter just make something like a double pluser and it rotate 180 degrees.

don't know but I just sent a link to dinnerbone. he's a little more in touch with the community than Jeb.
and why would anyone honestly say no to this idea other than potential bugs ( which would happen if they added anything)
Yes, like we craft golems, we should be able to build machines, like auto harvesters, mills, mining machines, cars, SHIPS, etc.
It would be a great advance for minecraft; using energy, machines, fuel... MC must progress in time, or not? we are using arrows and swords, while in advanced MC we could use guns and machines.

it would be great for more advance devices or trasnports in minecraft. if they make it go like a tech one and a old style that be cool too.

This would be fun with repeaters and their new locking mechanic, it actually would be pretty cool to see this in the latest redstone update. I don't see why it should be able to rotate blocks with a GUI, like furnaces. Furnaces can be accessed from any face. Jack o' lanterns would be fun though, you could rotate its face, exposing one side of the room to more light that the other. A mob spawns on the dark side of the room, triggers a pressure plate and fires a dispenser. Then the Rotor would rotate and start the process over again. Just a fun idea, pointless, really.
