I was recently playing minecraft, just walking around in a village, when it hit me; villagers are practically useless except for trading. So what I was thinking was that you could hire villagers to do jobs or things like that for you. They would be employed with a certain number of gold nuggets, depending on the job's strain, and be off. For example, say I have 5 gold nuggets and I need to hire somebody to mine some stuff for me. I would give them my gold and they would go mine a specific thing for me. The system would work like trading, giving gold nuggets for villagers to either mine a specific amount of an ore, or farm a number of a crop, etc. When you open the trade panel for villagers, there would be a tab at the top saying "jobs" it would pull up a separate deal similar to the villager's attributes. They should also be able to defend you, get paid and get a sword and kill stuff.
couldnt you like make a pig grinder, and then have villagers stripmine the world? why not use emeralds? but then they could mine emeralds... oh i know! have them scared of the dark! they could only go where you have put torches, or have lava! but they could still cut trees, and stuff. just not at night! suport, with changes
Please reply! Thanks!
