Ever since a long time ago when dungeons were implemented we were having fun raiding them and going to the next. Actually, only for a few days before some genious discovered mob farms. Now its making farms off of these dungeons. But thats not my thread. My thread is how dungeons should be implemented instead of the one now. Maybe we can just change the name iof are dungeons, and use my dungeon idea as a dungeon.
Dungeons are big structures with long, three wide and four high tunnels connecting each room. Think of it like the Aether bronze dungeon. Dungeons would be made of stone, stone bricks, and logs and sometimes planks. Instead of open mob spawners the mob spawners would be a block behind the walls. They generate randomly and averaging two spawners a tunnel.
Rooms are big cubes that are ten blocks high and ten blocks long and wide. Sometimes there is a balcony in the dungeon making it five blocks high. The room has some harder mob. I dont know really, I will add it in. But there will be a chest sometimes in the rooms, one on the ground and maybe one on a balcony. Once you defeat the mob, whatever it be, you can open the chest peacefully.
These dungeons would have an entrance on the surface. It will be a large, oak wood and log hall. Like a church kind of. But there will be an open mob spawner in the middle. On the other side of the double doors you enter will be a staircase down into the earth, entering the main dungeon.
These would be uncommon, but common enough so you can find one if you explore, uncommon enough so they arent next to each other underground.
This is a real, fighting dungeon thats harder to make mob traps and farms. So now you can explore, fight, and raid more and actually feal like a hero.
This is a nice idea, I hate how so called "dungeons" nowadays are being used as mob spawners, but it's good anyway that Jeb is trying to stop this. Anyway, I like how it will have different rooms like a dungeon in WoW or other MMO's. At the end of the dungeon would there be a boss (so the rooms would always lead you to it) or would they just be rooms with mobs in them, and then once you clear out all the rooms the dungeon is over? It seems really cool though, with the harder mobs and all. +1 as you requested of us
I like the current Dungeons, not because they're actual Dungeons, but that makes them what they are. They're not dungeons, they're Minecraft Dungeons. Just like Chickens aren't ducks, but simply Minecraft Chickens. These kind of errors make Minecraft charming.

What the heck does a "Minecraft chicken" have to do with a duck? They look nothing alike and dont share atributes.

I don't see how this would make the dungeons that much more challenging. It takes 5 seconds to light up a spawner with torches to prevent mobs from spawning. All you would have to do with these is light up the dungeon the same way you would any other dungeon, then find the spawner hidden in the wall. Plus, you would know where these dungeons are from the surface.
All in all this would only take 5 minutes for a player to clear and maybe about 3x as many torches as it currently takes to light up a large dungeon (so somewhere around 20-30 torches total). And with the fact that you can just bring a bucket of water and drop it on the floor (mobs can't spawn in water) makes it even easier.
This idea would make the dungeon slightly more challenging for an inept player, tedious to clear for everyone, and you gave the people who make spawner traps at least 2 more spawners to make a bigger and better trap, making the game even easier for them after they spend 5 minutes spamming water on the floor and torches on the walls, then find the hidden spawners.
The whole idea of making these actually 'harder' hinges on the harder mob you mentioned with no detail.

I have a Spoon. Your argument is invalid.
