Cross-posted here minecraftforum.net/topic/1535436-controls-edittoggle/ (so two groups of people can say I've put this in the wrong place!)
A simple feature would be binary enable/disable of certain buttons in even just the main button configuration. That's it just pressing the edited button does nothing. It shouldn't be hard at all to turn off input to a feature!
Why its important: two hours of mining and you see lava. You have no idea where you are but you still have supplies. Hey some lava, better block it off. What was that? AH A ZOMBIE dropped on my face! CLICK CLICK CLICK. What the? Why are my controls inverted? How did I end up in the lava! Well there goes all the fun I was having. Let's go turn off that third person mode so it doesn't happen again...
Now rinse and repeat seven times; enough to waste an hour of my life typing to forums that the xbox porters might not read anyways. An email contact to them directly would be wonderful.
Wait, are you saying you want to be able to turn off both third person views temporarily?? If so, i'm down with that. It gets annoying panic clicking to third person all the time. Lmao!
I'm sorry, but you accidentally clicking the wrong button is not a valid reason to add "Optioncraft", which is the idea of practically everything being optional. You don't need to be able to turn on every thing that annoys you simply because you tapped Y instead of X, or whatever it really is.
I also fail to see how this would happen often enough for it to be a problem. Even expert players hit the wrong key sometimes, but this is rare in itself and almost never happens with the same key often enough to require the removal of that feature.

Okay fine. Just disable the camera view. Its just one button to disable and its incredibly easy to press too hard. The xbox controllers are VERY sensitive and you already have your fingers on the "wrong" button since you have to use the joysticks to move and aim. It's a natural human reaction to press too hard when surprised.

Disable the view/3rd person button removes all those frustrating and needless panic-click deaths.
