Sand is really only useful to plant cacti and make glass. other than that, it just falls. What if you could get sand wet? wet sand sticks to things, and you would be able to notice it by its darker sand color. You cound put it in water to make it wet or find it along the water. I know that it dries up when heated, but if it's in a shaded area it would stay wet.
@johnyIsAwesome, i dont know how to make it simpler. You get sand wet, and since wet sand sticks to things, it wouldnt fall. It could be used inside a cave, or somewhere shady, or even inside your own home. It would fall when put out in open water because it would still, like in real life, fall to the underwater ground.
What? You're narrowing your thinking; sand is gravity responsive (I.E, it falls). Sand is decorative in itself, sand can make TNT.
Stop limiting yourself to crafting and placing uses. By this logic, dirt is completely and totally useless, as are leaves. Or would you rather the entire world be made of stone and 1x1 towers of wood blocks?
This suggestion in particular would simply make deserts bordering oceans incredibly ugly. Wet sand would be hard to use properly, since it dries up unless in the shade, and simply doesn't have any uses whatsoever. Less so than what you claimed sand had.

sorry i forgot that it was used for TnT and sandstone. I just thought that it would be cool to have sand that doesn't fall. and plus it would only be two blocks from the water with wet sand.
