I was required to split up my suggestions on individual posts. But since bees and smoke have something related to one another, i decided to post them altogether. - Honeycombs: Are rarely found grown aside oak or birch trees, pretty much like cocoa pods. When you cut the host tree or when you break them, they drop Beeswax chunks as a new item (ill get into that later), and bees will pop out as suspended blocks of bees, moving from one block to another towards the player, harmful to players or mobs if inside them, so you better run. Now: Beeswax chunks can be used for: Crafting beeswax blocks for decorative purposses (Hexagonal honeycomb texture), making honey soup with a bowl and consume it to cure slowing or weakening effects, and also make potions of efficiency with nether wart. Corrupted effect may be a potion of jumping (which also gives you falling resistance). - Smoke: An aerial fluid, which will try to go up until there is a solid roof (in which case it will spread aside some squares) or it gets to a determined altitude, at which it will start to form a kind of cloud and then rise no more. It gives no resistance to movement or working, reduces vision across it and takes your breath away and then harms you whenever the mob's or player's head is inside it, pretty much like water. Also mislead mobs and stuns bees, making them loose attention to you so you can run away. It spawns on individual fire or lava places like firestacks, and some random fire and lava blocks, and in the Nether, of course. - Ashes: Whenever you set a thing on fire and it consumes, or whenever smoke is above solid blocks, it has some chance of dropping a layer of ash, which you can collect and use it as a fertilizer, similar to bone meal. Also may be used along with gunpowder to create throwing smoke bombs.
I like some of these ideas, but if I were you, I would break this up into multiple threads, or (at least) make them seem like they all fit a central theme. If not, this might qualify as a wishlist.

Would this break fireplaces that don't have actual vents due to flooding the room with harmful "aerial fluid"?
I was thinking smoke could go up some maximum ammount of squares, or if there is a solid roof, it spreads aside but just 1 square thick, so you could mine up in order to avoid drowning.
I was thinking honey farming could be done by putting a beeswax chunk at the side of an oak or birch log, and you will need some flowers nearby. The problem would be, each time you break a honeycomb, bees will try to attack you, so you should need one of four things to avoid damage: a full armor and a pumpkin instead of helmet, 2 blocks of water so you can be totally submerged, and then inside, bees will stop following you, or to use smoke sources like fire, lava (although they can burn the logs and honeycombs if not well placed) or smoke bombs for safe, because smoke stuns bees.

People are probably going to want to be able to farm honeycombs. Would there be a way to do that?
Bees - No
Smoke - No
Ashes - Already suggested.
