The first time I was introduced into brewing, i was utterly lost. I had to open up a guide any time I wanted to brew something, and the whole idea about the "Awkward Potions" and "Mundane Potions" just really confused me. If I were in the Mojang development team, I would definately improve the way potions are made.
I'm not saying to completely give everything away about brewing. All i want is a little GUI that pops up when you're brewing a potion that labels what you're making when you're making it. A craftable brewing/crafting guide would also be nice, but not really needed since part of the minecraft experience is finding out how to make something.
Guys, please give your honest feedback. I will add anything that I think of and anything that seems good that you guys post!
POSTED IDEAS THAT I LIKE
1 - Make Witches have a chance to drop a potion brewing guide. It would give them a use!

2 - In said potion brewing guide, have potions that you have made be added to the book!
True, new players are more likely to give up on a potion than make a whole arsenal of deadly splash potions to fend off greifers and zombies. Instead of a little thing that pops up on the GUI, I have perhaps a better idea. There is currently no cause for attacking a witch, so why don't they keep a written book that contains brewing recipes? This means that if you don't want to glance at the wiki every few minutes and want to play legit, go for a witch and steal its book.
Anyway, I support new players obtaining a guide for brewing.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
Maybe they can add more paintings with Nether Fortresses or pictures of water bottles with miscellanious potion ingredients? Thats what they did for the Wither.

This.
I make potions and always forget what the ingredients are. Another possibility is to have a potion book where whenever you make a new potion it is listed in the book.
I Think When you Kill a Witch, there would be a Chance (80% - 90% Maybe?) for them to drop a readable book called: "Brewing for n00bs"
This Book Will have the ingredients for all sorts of potions. so we can have a brewing guide for newbies, and a drop for witches. which won't make them so useless (Other than being a Big pain in the Butt if you ever encounter them). the way i see it. its a Win - Win.

I support both of the idea, tough I like the nether-paintings-idea best

If you see me on this site, it's probably because I'm not particularly interested in it. Or I may be slightly intoxicated, though probably you won't see me here.
