hey bros
This is my first post so relax...
I have been playing minecraft for a while now but there seems some certain points of the game that are still stuck in the beta stage. for one the player associated items are not many, but add a huge dimension to game-play the simple things like clocks and compasses changed the game-play.
Quivers- ( i know there's probably other threads, and I know its an unimplemented item) and I know the majority of people will whinge about it not doing anything to the game and some lag that might come.., but anyway, quivers would make a great visual item to the player appearance, and may have a functional effect. arrows can be made unmistakable unless a quiver is being worn.
Chairs- I know stairs can be used as a substitute, but it seems awkward, clumsy and too big for most rooms. Chairs currently in minecraft in my opinion need the imagination to work, and I don't believe I should have to. Simple things like a chair that is 'sittable' would add another enormous dimension to minecraft and I see no reason why there should not be at least some attempt at implementation.
Shields- Shields in my opinion would breach the gap so many people are claiming to exist in the combat area of minecraft. A shield (like the quiver) would require an extra item slot but would make a whole new approach to combat possible, people could right click with a sword to block, this would take near no damage. whilst equipped however sword attacks and/or movement speed could be reduced to allow someone without a sword to have chance (this would add different game play styles to minercaft)
Tables- In addition to chairs I believe tables would make an excellent addition, as current substitutes seem ugly, a little silly(they also remind me of mcdonalds tables)... the sort of tables I'm thinking of are 4 legged tables, roughly the same dimensions as a bed.
Villagers- Now don't get me wrong I love village(r)s, but whilst the buildings look great, this weird obsession with keeping the testificates looking like useless aliens is stupid. I believe they should be remodeled to look like the player. this would make people feel more inclined to want to live in villages and not loot and run. also nothing happens in villages, golems seem weird and not that it would happen, but an aggressive villager would have been a nice addition, with a spear or sword to attack with. villagers should be busy chopping down wood, mining and BUILDING, like the millenaire mod, villagers should expand by themselves when aided by the player. not all villagers should be able to sell you items, instead there should be a shops, a potions shop, blacksmiths, food, general goods... these would give more variety in buildings and add an incredible dimension to minecraft. communication would also be a nice feature, with a click (choose your own path) sort of set up.
Thanks for reading, I would love your full criticism, but just make sure its supported by a feasible point.
Quivers
Why would I go bother to create something that is of such low value/crafting cost that it would hold no status in multiplayer and no use in single player.
Chairs
Honestly, minecraft is about being creative, there are plenty of amazing chair designs that aren't stairs. We just don't need it.
Sheilds
Would work better as just something you switch to on your item bar quickly to prevent damage. Seems OP prevently nearly all damage anyways.
Tables
Same as chairs.
Villagers
Now this is just petty. Why do you want everything to be like in the millinaire mod? Building? AFK for a while at a mob grinder and they will have devestated half the landscape tearing it down for resorces to build their massive empire even close to your house until they overun it. Chopping down wood and mining? This would just give me more reason to loot and run.
basically you've said no simply because you don't want it.there are no amazing chair designs they all look like bizarre wooden lounges... or are too large for the player, also I dont want to use my imagination on a set of stairs to make it a chair.
quivers like i mentioned, would have the effect of being able to stack arrows.... lets say they made it so arrows could only be stacked in clumps of 4... however they could be stacked in a quiver up to 64.
i dont see why shields would "work better", it is after all a piece of armor and not a weapon or item, in my opinion, and should therefore should be treated like normal armor.
Villagers, now i dont want everything to be like the millenaire mod, but i dont want them to be lifeless, boring, hideous things that they are now. villagers currently have o interaction with the player or the player world and that just seems stupid to me.

I guess it would look nice, but it wouldn't really phase me if they added it.

Chairs and tables would be great, Minecraft needs more player interaction with the actual world, instead of just mining it up,like mine carts and boats, chairs and tables would be great!

Hmm, I think shields would possibly make it too easy, unless they broke incredibly easy or wore out...

This is a very very good point, as much as I currently love the villagers and villages, they could be so much better, the idea of shops is good, I think its just weird trying to chase around a squid shaped monk in a random paddock to trade items with them, they could be more civil about it. I don't think they should make them into replica Steves, maybe a totally different biped creature? And as soon as I logged on to 1.4.2 I saw a gravel path go to nowhere with no houses around it, so maybe they will expand and develop, if maybe the mine shafts could have some connection to the villagers, I'm sure Mojang could have it so that every tree they cut down, they plant another, and that they have a restricted mining area. I just really think the villages need more work, they could make the entire game so much more awesome!

I thought the suggestions page was suggesting ideas that the person had? therefore a wishlist exactly as you said.
