I swear to friggin' god that I CANNOT play a SINGLE custom map on both single or multiplayer because the mob spawning rates are OVER THE ROOF! There always just happens to be atleast 100 something monsters when I play a standard custom map with no nearby mob spawners. All of these are around that relative area too. It pisses me off because I couldn't even play Spellbound Caves due to the fact I couldn't walk out of my shelter without being bombarded by hordes of zombies, spiders, creepers, AND skeletons! This is even in well-lit areas! As I'm sure atleast somebody here knows, the spawn area for Spellbound Caves is indeed fairly well-lit with glowstone, yet it still spawns enormous amounts of monsters. Even on normal singleplayer, I've walked into my PERFECTLY lit house to find like 6 zombies, 2 creepers, and a spider jockey! The mob-spawning rate NEEDS to be decreased... Minecraft is officially broken... Time to complain to Blizzard forums...
1. Do you have ANY mods installed?
2. Spellbound Caves is HELL at night. There are few "empty" spaces for mobs to spawn in, so they spawn in ANY unlit space in the starting area. This is intended. When day comes, expect several dozen mobs to be hiding around your home.
3. Do you leave your doors open? Zombies/Skeletons will seek shelter from the sun, and can wander into your house.
4. Do you understand lighting mechanics perfectly? It's a potential that you're not placing enough lights.
5. Do you play on brightness 100%? Play on moody, re-light the area, and then switch back to bright.
6. Did you really expect a Super Hostile map to be easy? I've beaten 7 of them and still have trouble with them.
1.) No, not a single mod at all
2.) I appreciate your explanation, it's a bit more comforting
3.) I never leave my doors open, you could call me a specialist at door closing...
4.) To be honest, probably not, and my previous post might've been a slight over-reaction but there are still lots of monsters.
5.) I actually thought of that but never decided to really try it out, thanks for the idea though.
6.) No, not at all, but even on normal custom maps (e.g. Faraway Avalon) there are exceedingly large amounts of monsters, I'm SERIOUSLY talking enormous hordes and armies that gather up in groups of 10-20.

Lend a helping hand and click on it, pretty please?
I played a good portion of Spellbound Caves before my copy somehow got corrupted, and it wasn't impossible. I got mobs here and there wandering around, but not huge amounts.
If you aren't good enough to fight mobs in an adventure map that's meant to be hard, then don't play the map.
I understand that I'm supposed to fight mobs but, it's just that, I don't quite think you understood when I said that the mobs came in groups of TEN to TWENTY. That is beyond ridiculous, that's just pathetically brutal. I don't mean to sound harsh and I don't want to start any battles but I'm quite serious when I say there are ridiculously high spawning rates, more specifically on custom maps in both singleplayer and multiplayer.

Yes i support your proposal they need to balance monsters spawning just because I stayed in one place does it mean to overkill me a hundred times and making me run the whole gameplay and the game is set easy why make it hard and stressful zombies ARE EVERYWHERE AND SO IS CREEPPERS
