I think one thing minecraft really needs is mobs that indescrimatly attack players, and other mobs. Heres a few ideas, feel free to add on and whatnot.
Giant pitcher plants. big plant looking holes full of acid. Kills any mobs that falls in, but will also kill a player that falls in. Easy to avoid if you are paying any attention at all.
Amphithere
Picture a snake with bat wings.
Swoops out of the sky, and grabs the easiest target. Which is usually a mob. Useful for when you are being chased by something, and it comes out of nowhere and kills it. Rare, and does not pursue, just kind of swoops down, and leaves.
Chupacabra
This would be awesome. Targets livestock animals. Doesn't attack players unless attacked.
Sandworms
See sandworm thread.
Does anyone else think something like this would be pretty awesome?
I think it would be pretty awesome, and I like all of the ideas, although, instead of the snake bat ( 75% bat, 75% snake ), I think it should just be good ole' vampire bats.
They attack pigs, creepers, sheep and the player. They wouldn't really work on skeletons because their bone marrow is made of m....arrows, and with zombies, well, it would probably be dried up. They could be fairly common, and would be a good reason to have a roof and to do your night-time adventuring underground ( They could be underground, too, but much less common ). All they would do is suck 1 heart away and then leave, but they'd be persistent throughout the night.
It would be awesome to see a herd of sheep explode from a spawn point and then be instantly swarmed with bats for the next 5 minutes.

Swarming flying aggressive mobs would make it impossible to do anything for half the playing time though.

Oh, dragonology. I much prefer the name quetzecoatl.
Defend your words flexibly.
Change your words fittingly.
Let prejudice, popular opinion, and preconception be free from your judgments.

Ah, thanks. I was drawing a blank on that one, so i used the only other name that people would recognise.
