Well I couldn't come up with a better name, so it's between Slot and Exchanger, although the idea fits Slot more.
Anyway the idea is a block that has a chance to spit out any material, but only works on ores, diamond and emerald. The way I see it, not sure if it's overpowered or under though is this. You place wood in, because that's the most comment. 75% that the wood comes back out on you. Then, within that 25% chance that's left, we divide it even more so that Stone is more likely to drop then Iron, and so on down that line. I was even thinking of giving it a 25% that the material you place in just vanishes but as I said, I'm not sure how over or underpowered this idea is. If that were in place the 75% would drop to 50% just to make things clear.
So, you place the next up on the ladder such as Iron and the stats for what comes out changes. It's a risk and reward idea plus a slightly easier way to maybe find diamonds.
It works the same as a ender chest, you need a pick with silk touch to pick it up other wise it breaks into it's obsidian and dispenser blocks.
I was also thinking maybe replace the diamond with the Nether Star to make it that much harder to get.

Home alone at night...I usually sleep in my bed and wait till morning. This idea just adds an extra bit of fun, spitting out the mat you placed in it, or not, or spitting out something better. Who knows. Glad you liked the idea.
Besides putting in an item and a random item of higher quality popping out, would you think adding the addition of placing a second item such as coal to power it be a good idea, maybe even redstone to power the Slot such as coal is use to power the furnace or would that be a bit over the top?
I like the idea. But maybe instead of putting in wood you put in xp?
Not xp because this is a risk and reward device. What would you be risking if only xp? With risking an iron ingot, or even an emerald, you risk loosing. With xp you can just as easily go out and kill a few mobs, there isn't any risk there.
