well, to put it simply, blocks in MC have an infinite lifespan, but not in real life. now I don't know if this is worth it, but I just posted this to throw it out there. in case
maybe after a set time, wood can break? or become mouldy. at which point, you'd need to replace it.
stone will wither and become cobble. cobble will wither and become mossy cobble.
stone bricks will become cracked bricks. then mossy cracked bricks.
etc...
eventually, all player placed blocks will deterriorate. but naturally occuring blocks will stay the same.
not very expanded I know but what do you think? I'm not sure if I like this or not though.
I can't even fathom how complicated and game-breaking that would be. Imagine players building carefully decorated mansions, then having to replace ALL of those blocks. Not to mention you would have to continuously go around and search for new blocks for your house and resources to advance our progress in the game.
I can't comprehend how anyone would find such a feature fun.

Hey, you there. Yes, you! Are you thinking about posting a suggestion on the forums anytime soon? If so, please read this before doing so.
Maybe in that "Suicidal Mode" I saw somebody suggest a while ago... Besides, it would be extremely difficult & tedious to have to constantly replace parts of your home/builds. Also, it would probably cause tremendous lag...
