I know that this has probably been posted before, but I feel I should put in my two cents. A larger and vertically aligned mountain biome should be added. Basically, we should have huge mountains with valleys and rivers in between them.
Reasons:
- No biome to take advantage of the higher skybox
- Game needs more variety
- would look amazing in the distance
- Mountains are B.A.

Yeah, we should. This would actually be a pretty beautiful sight.

I'm still using Windows 7.
I said this. Two days later, my computer's motherboard melted down and I had to get a new one with Windows 8.
Yeah, giant mountains have always been needed. Shame that if Mojang actually sees this they'll put it in a blender and take out mountain spawn eggs instead...

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
Personally, if there were tall mountains, I think there'd need to be an extremely rare Giant Mountain. This would extend almost completely to the top of world, and would be topped with snow, or a crater filled with lava. Maybe you would have to go through various tunnels in order to climb to the top. Finally, maybe you could find chests littering the mountain that are filled with tools, clothes, and accessories.

The funny thing is, by the time you finish reading this, you will have wasted about four seconds of your life...
This covers an improvement of the difference between avarage mountain peak and the baseline surface height, causing a breathtaking sight when looking at it. The main aspect of that suggestion, as well, is to give use to the unused sky area (over 100 layers will have some use then).

You want to be a dragon? Well, then you need to have wings, a passion to hoard, and have a deadly breath.
Oh, and did I forgot to tell you dragons are extremely territorial? ROAWR >:)

On topic, I don't see anything wrong with the current mountains, but I'm all for taller ones, as long as the normal Extreme Hills stays.
I am ninja'd far too often.

Irony in the first degree.
Personally, I would rather see a completely new generator with these sorts of mountains in them than these mountains in a biome in the current one.
