This isn't about adding anything to the game, and this is an option.
For those who find hard mode too easy, which it is for me, the game shouldn't stop at Hard Mode. Why not have difficulty levels that challenge advanced players, then challenge super-advanced players, then eventually become so hard that nobody would be bored of easiness? The game's hardest level shouldn't be too easy for anyone.
Some tier suggestions:
- Extra Hard Mode: Hostile mobs do 2X the damage that they do in Hard Mode. All food items only replenish 3/4 the food that they normally do.
- Super Hard Mode: Same as Extra Hard Mode, but: All mobs (besides humans, including dogs/cats/golems) have 2X the hitpoints. Creepers blow up even farther away than they do on hard and do extra damage to humans. Fall damage is multiplied by 4/3. Food replenishes 1/2 the hunger bars as Hard Mode.
- Ridiculous Mode: Same as Super Hard Mode, but: Zombies, zombie pigmen, and spiders do 20 hearts of damage. Endermen 30. Skeletons 10. Blazes 20 on contact. Ghasts do 3X damage as Hard Mode. Iron golems and wolves also get buffed to have triple the health and triple the attack. Creepers do 4X the damage as Hard Mode and blow up no matter what if they are, at any point, at most 5 blocks away from you. The Enderdragon does 50 hearts of damage per hit.
I know the examples I gave probably need some tuning, but the idea is just that there need to be tougher game modes.
Extra Hard: Meh.
Super Hard: Better, but not entirely in the right direction.
Ridiculous: Overkill.
Difficulty is a much-needed thing but just changing mob stats won't do too much until every mob deals enough damage to kill you in one or two hits (especially spiders, blazes, ghasts, and skeletons since they hit you the most often).

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

Yeah, I think there needs to be more levels in between. Honestly, I just don't feel like writing out a bunch of levels. But anyway, the important thing is that I want some harder levels.

Ah, good point. When I wrote this, I forgot about a lot of the mobs. Revised to buff the helpful mobs.
