I'm proposing a update on spiders, not a full update, but some small stuff.
1. Spider Sight
Currently most mobs are a little stupid when being sniped by arrows from a range further than 16 blocks.
Spiders could have a 24 sight range, but only engage in combat if a player is within 16 blocks, meaning that it is harder to run away and harder to snipe.
2. Spider Web Making
Per-life time, if a spider finds a small space with no man-made materials near by, it will create a few web blocks. If day comes and the spider is still alive and not despawned, it will stay near these webs unless they are all destoryed, at which point it will wander.
3. Spider Chicken Hunting
On Hard and Hardcore, a spider will hunt chickens (other mobs are too big for it) pre-maturely, killing it quickly.
It will eat the chicken regaining a small amount of health, but leave the feathers behind. Enfence farms! On Easy, and Normal, a spider will not hunt.
4. Spider AI Update
The spider would be the last of the 4 original hostiles to gain path-finding. It would pathfind similar to other mobs, and if the player cannot be reached, it will wait at the spot nearest to the player. If it spends long enough waiting, it will lose interest and go away.
5. Spider Wall Climbing Change
A spider should not float up walls. That is rather awkward. A spider should flip over and crawl up the wall like it would normally.
6. Spider Stealth
Currently spiders make loud hissing noises when aware of the player. This ruins any change of a suprise attack, making it clear where the spider is. Spiders should make QUIET noises when in darkness and not attacking or being damaged, quiet enough so it is hard to hear. Spiders that are neutral in light and unprovoked will make normal noises. They will still make normal sounds when pouncing or taking damage from any source.
Dungeon spawned and cave spiders do not gain 2, but dungeon spawned and cave spiders would get all abilities except 2.
I hate people who complain. I hate spiders. I hate people who own an Xbox One. I hate people who like sandbox games. I hate people who like first person shooters. I hate people who like explosions. I hate people who like video games. I hate people who are hateful. I hate people that don't like spam. I hate people who like cake. I hate people who type in proper grammar and spell words properly on the internet. I hate hypocrites.
i agree it would be awesome if this would get in the game....... let me guess...... spiders are your favorite mob......
Pretty obvious, huh :D?
Thanks for the support!

I think I will add that when in darkness, spiders will make more quiet idle noises, if they pounce, they will make the normal noise.
The web bit would make it easy to farm string.
