The original Minecraft dungeons had an ugly charm. But now they're absolutely boring- The same dungeon, every time. Sure, theres some items, and that spawner can help you make a mob farm, but whats the point? The only dungeon that has exploration involved is the stronghold, and there's only one of those per map!
I mean, look at a randomly generated vanilla Minecraft dungeon.
You're probably saying Mojang doesn't have enough time to make new dungeons and such. Well, they may not, but there sure is a lot of more dungeon mods out there. And I'm pretty sure they're not gonna deny Mojang access to take the mod and maybe, implement it into Vanilla?!
The normal dungeons look absolutely horrible. They have no creativity, just a square with some moss, a spawner, and a chest or two.
Then you look at a mo' dungeons mod, and you see ruined towers that look beautiful, and etc. Even a MCDungeon world generator generates worlds with structures a lot prettier than the normal Minecraft dungeons!
And most of these mods have makers that I'm pretty sure would be happy to code it for 1.4, or 1.5, or something. Yet Mojang passes up the idea of 'implementing mods.' Sure, the Mod API will come soon, but the most practical mods, logical ones, should be implemented into Minecraft. Less ugly dungeons, stuff like that. Because wouldn't it be a lot more fun to explore the catacombs of a ruined underground civilization with your friend then a square, ugly, mossy box called a 'dungeon'?
And don't get me started on the pyramids, they're absolutely horrendous. Atleast have some of the better Minecraft builders make your structures, the developers put like, I dunno, 10 minutes into that pyramid, at the maximum. It looks absolutely terrible! I'm pretty sure some experienced Minecraft builders would of built 20 pyramids! All looking a lot better than these vanilla ones!
My point is, Mojang, start implementing the most practical/logical mods or make your random structures less ugly.
I like the appearance of the dungeons and pyramids. Simple, and not over complicated like Strongholds. They are not incredibly rare, so they don't deserve to be elaborate and treasure-ridden.

On topic:
Dungeons are meant to be rare things, things you find and go look! A chest! Underground ruins and such are just eye candy.
They could have better loot.
