I'm becoming sick of walking out of my cabin into the frozen taiga and seeing.... pigs... and cows.... and chicken.
I was thinking about how nice it would be to walk out of that same house and see something more like deer and bears, or alligators in the jungle. Just something that seems even remotely realistic.
I know a lot of people will say that this game isn't supposed to be realistic, and that if they wanted realism they'd go outside. But seeing pigs and cows wandering through the frozen tundra is just silly.
What do you guys think of having more realistic animals in each biome?
While it may sound like a nice idea, this would really limit certain items. I'd have to go find a plains or forest to be able to make books (leather) or arrows (feathers).

While I agree with Prince to some extent, I think this would be great for realism. Maybe it'd only occur on set difficulty or something, to stop people who don't like difficulty from complaining... hmmm.
Eitherway, I love the idea of deer, bears etc, and all mobs being biome-specific.
There's a fairly easy fix to this. have more things drop feathers, leather, and wool. Snow birds, Mountain goats and deer/yaks?
Something that lives in the ocean (besides squid). Something that makes you have to be cautious while in a boat out in the ocean. Maybe also have different kind of fish that you can actually SEE when diving or have different fish that can be used for food or other things. Something that makes you want to explore the ocean. Sunken Treasure?
This would be an incredible addition to the game. I'm surprised that treasure in the ocean hasn't been implemented already, when you look and mineshafts and whatnot.
I would also like being able to make bigger boats, like a small ship or even a large pirate ship. Obviously these can be made to look nice, but I mean boats that you could ride places. Maybe even you could see a villager ship floating along the coast. Or evil pirate ships...

But then again, would it make the gameplay more Vanilla & more realistic? As though, it depends which biomes are located where as well. I would like the idea of more realistic hostile/friendly mobs in the dependent biome with a general use. Also, wouldn't it depend on large biomes as well, if it were to make it that much more difficult, just in my opinion?
You could still get the barnyard animal popping up - they just don't have to be the stand-out population. Besides, deer could give you venison and leather, penguins could give you eggs and feathers (doesn't have to make total sense) and you can milk beached seals. The details can be ironed out. Everyone who replies in suggestion forums need to remember that.
Loving the idea But their are a lot of things people would want. But heck, i don't see why not
