I've been playing Minecraft for a long time, and I was psyched when the new FOV option came out because it let me have a larger range of view, but it's still not what I'm looking for. By freelook/freeaim, I don't mean aimbots or any B.S. like that, I mean different viewing options.
If you've ever played Arma II, you know what I am talking about. While walking forward or backward, you could hold alt and look around with your mouse and your character would retain it's directional movement, making it easy to look around without actually breaking your sprint to check left or right.
Another kind of freeaim I would love to be able to use in Minecraft, is something demonstrated here:
It allows you to freeze your frame of view, and still aim your weapons or tools at a specific point where your mouse is, and I think this would be perfect for building.
I figured this wouldn't be a hard modifcation, or at least a stock addition to make because it only really effects the mouse. I have been looking around for something that does this, but I have found nothing, and it's pretty surprising that no one has tried to do this yet.
This seems like a good idea. You freeze your view so, when you throw your mouse off your desk, you don't have to put your view back. And, it's nice to look around you.

This would make building so much faster. It would be like moving your mouse to an icon on the desktop. You can do it in almost an instant if you know your mouse well enough. You could just move your mouse to the block you want to place on and you're good. That's why I want to see this so badly. It's just a conveinient method of building and aiming in general.

I have a Spoon. Your argument is invalid.
I'm sure you mean optifine.
