I began to notice that Cave Spiders appear to only spawn from a monster spawner found in abandoned mine shafts.
So I'm suggesting that Cave Spider spawn naturally.
Here is the conditions for them to spawn.
-Must be at layer 48 and below.
-Must be at light level of 4 or less. (Other hostile mobs spawn at light level of 7 or less)
When a Spider spawn, there would be 5% chance that a Cave Spider will spawn instead. The chance is greater as you go deeper. For every 4 layers below layer 48, the chance increase by 1%, up to a maximum increase of 12% so the total chance would be 17% at bedrock level. On hard, the chance is doubled. (Base 10%, increase by 1% per 2 layers, up to maximum of 34%)
Cave spiders can poison player on medium or hard. But cave spiders have less health than regular spiders so they're fairly easy to kill.
On superflat, cave spider spawning on surface would be possible because superflat grass layer is at layer 3. Since mobs stand at layer 4, there would be 16% chance of cave spider spawning.
Heck no, getting poisoned is the main danger of abandoned mineshafts. By making cave spiders spawn naturally it would make mineshafts less deadly and also harder to find.
Cave spiders would be a bit uncommon. Abandoned mine shafts would still provide challenge by breaking cobwebs to get to the spawner then destroy it. The chance start out at 5%.

Not really true. The spawner constantly spawns cave spider until you destroy it. Also, cave spiders don't spawn in surface. Unless you're playing on superflat. It doesn't make mineshaft harder to find. It's just that spiders spawn a bit less often than skeletons and zombies in caves.
This sounds cool. I support, except for one thing: they're called cave spiders. They're spiders in caves. So maybe they could only naturally spawn if the block they spawn in is not exposed to the sky.
Cave spiders would require light level of 4 or less to spawn. Moon have light level of 4, so they would be unlikely to spawn during night time in superflat.

Technically exists.
