Do you hate mining? Do you hate worrying about lava pouring onto you, and your special diamonds you have just found? Not anymore...
The drill would act like a automatic miner. A drill is crafted with a chest, a piston, and a diamond. This gives one drill base. In order to get it ready, you surrounded it with eight wood, stone, iron, gold or diamond. The mining drill looks like a piston, but the wooden part has a spiral texture, of whatever the material was used to make it.
You place it on the ground, in the direction you want it to mine. Right clicking on it will open a GUI. It looks like a chest, but theres a single slot to the left of it, which is where the coal goes. It is also missing two columns, or six spaces, for the fuel slot to fit. Once you place the coal in the ready drill, it will extend, like a piston, but much slowly anf smoothly. When the rotating drill starts breaking the blocks in front of it, it will be placed in the GUI/ Each drill has a certain speed/distance.
Wood mines one block every 2.5 seconds. It can only mine up to 32 blocks foward.
Stone mines one block every two seconds. It can only mine up to 48 blocks foward.
Iron mines one block every 1.5 seconds. It can mine up to 128 blocks foward.
Diamond mines one block every second. It can mine up to 512 blocks foward.
Gold mines one block every 0.5 seconds. It can only mine up to 24 blocks foward.
Once it reaches it's limit, the drill will stop functioning, and turn back into a drill base. The GUI will still be there, with the storage part filled with all of the blocks it mined. All drills can mine any ore, except for wood and gold, which will stop mining at gold ore, redstone ore, diamond ore, and/or emerald ore. Stone will stop at obsisian. Wood and gold will instantly break their drills if it strikes obsisian.
Feedback would be appreciated. +1 if you really like this idea.
