Now that slimes spawn in swamps, there needs to be more uses and theats for them.
1. When you get hit with a slime you should have a chance to receive slowness. The bigger the slime the bigger the chance.
2. When slimes bounce on the ground they should make the ground so when you walk on it you walk slower, like soul sand.
3. You should be able to throw slimeballs and when they hit a solid block they splat. When they hit a mob it makes them slower for a short period.
4. You should be able to make sticky arrows. The purpose is so the arrows wont despawn for a longer time period.
5. A sticky fishing rod. You need a fishing rod and 3 slimeballs, put them in a crafting table and BAM! The purpose is so the fish cant escape so your guaranteed to catch a fish but, the rod would have less durability than a regular one.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Dont forget to comment. I want to see your ideas about this.

How about the slime washes off of the rod after some amount of fish caught, but it just turns into a regular rod.

When will Minecraft stop updating? When pigs fly over the frozen plains of hell, twice in a blue moon, while Taylor Swift sings a song called, "Maybe I'm the Problem".
1. Sure why not.
2. Kinda the same thing as 1.
3. Could be fun.
4. I imagine the despawn of arrows is set specifically to keep low end PCs from hacking up blood. (not them specifically but every little thing helps) personally I'd prefer it if everything was persistent, but since it isn't I don't think a mechanic to change that and break the illusion of reality (yes, even in a world made of blocks) is really what we want.
5.Sounds like an odd way to balance a buff. a net block or lobster pot would be more useful. I don't see a point in changing the fishing rod to work better unless you do it to the base rod.
That's a good start, I would also use slime balls as like a glue, that mobs can stick to and blocks like sand as well as entities can stick to, however the mobs can work their way out of it, like cobwebs. This could be used to make better mob traps. There should also be a rare drop that allows you to make a block called fertilizer, which spreads to dirt if not taken by grass on mycilium.
Wow these are really good ideas!! But I do have some criticism...
For number 3, how about when you throw them at a block, they create a slab-like block, only thinner, that slows you down and despawn in the same amount of time as arrows.
And I really don't know about the arrows, it's been suggested so many times so far and I don't think it's gonna happen.
Now that slimes spawn in swamps, there needs to be more uses and theats for them.
I fail to see the validity in this statement. They already have more uses than most items (most really only have one use), but they have always been hard to get. This just makes them more common so it's not AS hard to make sticky pistons or magma cream. I don't really see why simply because they are more common, they need more uses. If anything, them being more common should make them more useless, not more useful. It doesn't really make sense that something more common would have more uses and rarer things would be less useful. One would think that rare items should have more uses since they are rare.
Anyway, onto the suggestion:
1) This is the only one I support. I kinda like the idea of them like, getting you all sticky so you can't move as well.
2) I think them hitting you and making you slow is enough, no reason to make them slow you down in two ways.
3) While this is nice, I prefer the idea of using slime balls to make blocks "sticky" so that you can have long lines of blocks be pulled by sticky pistons.
4) Would require reworking how bows work to have to pick a type of ammunition somehow. For this reason I don't support any kind of different arrows. I prefer how simple it is now.
5) Well now that's just too easy... Fishing is easy enough, no reason to automate it.
