I was just playing my survival world when I stumbled upon a Taiga biome. It so happens to be my least favourite biome, it being confusing and boring and always snowy. So this idea popped into my head. What if minecraft have seasons? And more weather? I'm not talking about the snow that happens in snow /taiga biomes, or random annoying rain and lightning.
I'm talking about plains getting snow and forests getting wind.
I might not be describing this perfectly, but what I'm trying to say is, more weather options going on different biomes rather than one or two.
Autumn might come in about 15 days, all the trees would become orangy reddish, and there would be leaves on the floor and wind.
Winter might come in about 15 days as well, and every biome except desert and jungle will snow.
Spring will have flowers and tall grass blooming
Summer will be much hotter, and if you stand on sand, you will get hurt due to the sun (got that idea from a mod, so props to them!)
Hopefully, Mojang will add better biome and weather options like so. Feel free to put more suggestions here.
Wind would be on the hard side and would be CPU intensive (if it was more than just audio). For seasons, there are a few mods that add them. I work with this one. With mine, season length is changeable through use of an NBT editor.

If I said I'd do something and haven't, please remind me; I didn't lie, I just forgot.

I'll be working on that in the next couple of months so it works better with EBXL and such (already compatible, but an Autumn biome having Winter doesn't make much sense).

Honestly seasons is a great idea and could be possible by adding more color palletes for foliage and just switch them for each season, but it should definitely be a yes or no option on world creation.
Besides that, we also need to consider that this would make biomes like "Plains" and "Ice Plains" redundant. It seems like just by looking at biomes that Mojang has already basically set location specific seasons and its much simpler than switching palletes.
The most weather you're gonna get is what's already here, like raining and snowing which in my opinion couldn't haven't gone better any other way.

True, but if not an actual update to minecraft, it could be a mod! I'll try the modding thing, though I'm very terrible with that.
Well then I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about this and that there is more people wanting this idea to happen.
That would be better. I agree. I'll change it.
