Well, admit it, you've all been there. You have ton of resources and your ready to build your super-awesome-mega-mansion dream house. You gather up all resources, and I mean ALL of them and you start building. But you only finish half of it before you realize you're out of blocks.
The Bulider's Table would be your friend. All you would have to do is put in the house's height, width, and then another width, and it would tell you how many blocks you would need to get your house done. It would have the ability that it could also give numbers for various blocks. For instance, it could say you needed 45 wood for floors, 100 cobblestone for 1 set of walls, 100 stone for the second set, and 45 glass for the roof. It would be crafted like so :
C S C
S P S
C R C
C = Crafting Tables
S = Stone
P = Paper
R = Resdtone Dust
A singular problem persists though, it could only do square houses.
I came up with an idea for dealing with roofs. The GUI would be some thing like this:
X X X
X X X
X X X
Tall :0 Width 1 :0 Width 2 :0
For diffrent kinds of roofs, you would have to put in diffrent kinds of block patterns
X= empty
0= Stone
Seems like this would be better suited to being a secondary program outside of Minecraft rather than another block. The UI would have to be pretty complex I would think especially if the goal is to be able to create anything more than a box house. When you start looking at multiple stories and peaked roofs you'll need more than just 3 input boxes.

I see your point there, but really, all this is is a calculator block when you think about it. tall x width1 x width2, then your answer comes out. The part about diffrent blocks however, would be really hard to implement. Maybe I'll update the post.

O O O
This would give a flat roof.
X X 0
X 0 X
0 X X
This would give you a pyramid roof.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
