I had an idea! There should be a feature where if you leave a melon or a pumpkin in it's garden for a Minecraft month, then it would rot. A rotted pumpkin would have white spots all over it. A rotten melon would have tan spots with lines all over it.
That's not the only idea. The other idea is that in order to have an unlit jack o' lantern, you have to put in the crafting table a pumpkin (Which would look like a normal pumpkin) and an iron sword. A lit jack o' lantern would look like a jack o' lantern.
I kind of like the idea with rotting pumpkins and melons, but I feel as if one month might be too long for them to have to sit, maybe a week at most. Also, would the rotted pumpkins and melons drop anything? I am kind of confused about what you are trying to say to change with jack o' lanterns.

Yeah, but just a week for the pumpkins, a month for the melons. Rotted items would drop melon or pumpkin slop. A lit up jack o' lantern would look like a lit up jack o' lantern. You have to put in the crafting table (or self crafting) an iron sword and a pumpkin. That would give you a carved pumpkin. Then put a torch and a carved pumpkin in the crafting table or self crafting. That will give you a jack o' lantern.
Yeah, I think I could possibly see this happening. Though it'd probably be extremely bothersome...
I know, it's bothersome, but it doesn't rot in your inventory, only if you place it down it would rot, and if you break it and place it back, you reset the "timer".
Unless it has some uses in the brewing system or anything else, that would be okay.
What about this:
When the pumpkin rots, you can use pumpkin slop for making torches. Instead of one piece of coal, it would be a stick and pumpkin slop. Rotten pumpkins can drop 1-10 pieces of pumpkin slop. Same thing for melons. It also drops seeds.
This seems like... a wild slew of ideas-not just one. I like the pumpkin carving with the sword and though it would be purely decorational it would be cool to have different faces.
I like the idea alot. How ever jackolaterns should not rot becuase people use th ad a light source and decoration.
It should also be a shorter amount of time and in minecraft days not actually time.
How about only grown pumkins so if you place a pumkin you wouldnt have to worry about it rotting only the ones grown from stems.
But i like the idea.

Still, no support. I'm sorry.
