Have you ever wanted to make something, but accidentally make something else? Well consider this:
A decrafting menu. This will allow you to place an item in a drop box, such as one in a furnace, and the result will appear in a box as the item you crafted in the crafting table. This will help if you made the silly mistake of making a diamond axe when you wanted a diamond pickaxe.
Limits:
*You cannot decraft a used item, such as a diamond pickaxe. That would be cheating.
*If you place one item, as opposed to the crafted number, it will not decraft. Take sticks for example, only if you have 4 sticks in the decrafting menu, then it will give you back your 2 wooden planks.
*If you cannot craft the item you placed, it won't have a decraft, such as obsidian.
If you would like a de-crafting menu, show your likes in the comments. Thank you and goodbye.
The problem with this is that some recipes have multiple inputs for the same output, so for example, what kind of planks would you get for de-crafting four sticks?

when you craft somthing it is made into another item permanately. if it were reversable would every item be able to be reversed or only some? is it fair to be able to deconstruct an axe and make it into a shovel? I think it would not work well with the gameplay. Mabey if you changed the idea or were more specific it might be able to work with some items. interesting idea though, mabey just change it a bit.

He was specific. If you read the OP more closely, you'll notice that he said that (not the exact words) if an item has less than full durability remaining, it can't be de-crafted. Which makes sense really, this comes across as more of an "undo a mistake" feature than anything else.

BBCode Render failed due to reaching MaxNestingDepth(80) for Tag: spoiler
Also, this would make diamonds renewable via trading.
I don't like this.
