This is my suggestion for a "Skyworld", I believe there should be a skyworld because:
-It would balance the dimenions, because of there being a nether, but there no "Aether(Mod Reference NOT Intended)
-It has been promised in the past, but was thrown off by "The End" dimension development.
-I believe this is one of the major key features that Minecraft has been missing ever since they created the Nether and paid no attention to how it wouldn't make sense to have a "Heaven Realm" implemented.
One downside to this that immediatly comes to mind is that it wouldn't make sense to not see anything floating throughout the sky, because the skyworld would obviously consist of many rocks sortof "Orbiting" the overworld.
I like the idea, I think it would be cool if you could have "dreams" if you slept in a bed, which would teleport you to this world, but also still have your suggestion.
Hmm, that would be cool, but some impatient people don't want to wait for a dream or nightime to come.
What do you think of simply using the classic nether portal design(Except with glowstone?)
Well this has been posted about by a lot of people, including me.
I bet, it would be a huge feat and very time-consuming to make this dimension, if this idea is accepted it would probably won't be until 1.6-2.0 before they start developing it.
Yes!
Skyworld would be bright and opposite of the Nether,so glowstone would be the best material to make a portal!
Edit - Oh and thanks for not making a topic like "mojangg shuld add aether just evrything from the mod".
Aether to me is like a second overworld, it has its own sets of tools with tiers very similar to overworld, it just wouldn't fit well with Minecraft vanilla.
No. First, this has been suggested so many times that this post is redundant. Secondly, the End was a REPLACEMENT for the "sky dimension". If you recall, they did testing where skyland chunks would generate in the overworld (it was in some snapshot a while back), but they scrapped it and replaced it with the end. Third, why glowstone? You would have to go to the nether first to even get there and harvest glowstone, plus it seems cheap to make another portal like the nether one (which is probably why the end portal is horizontal, not vertical). Lastly, you did not even mention what would be in this dimension; from what you made it sound like, there would be random chunks of stuff just floating there.

If you simply "HATE" the idea, please state why.
Discuss.
