Since the upcoming update for Mincraft is another Halloween-themed update, I had this idea to resolve something that's been bugging me since before I even started playing the game: of all the flying mobs in Minecraft, the one bird mob, the chicken, isn't one of them.
So yeah, crows... what would they contribute to the Minecraft experience? Well, they would be neutral mobs spawning in forest biomes as well as anywhere with a lot of trees for starters. You may even find them spawning in your orchard. They'll leave the player alone unless attacked, or one catches the player raiding their nest. You heard right, nest. They'll also attack you if you destroy their nest or chop down the tree that their nest is in. Much like a wolf, the whole murder will zerg rush your ass if you provoke one of them.
What's in the crow's nest that they don't want you snooping around in it? Well, you wouldn't want someone raiding your personal belongings would you? Crow's nests will have random items stored in them that you may attempt to steal from said crow. These items are usually the rotting flesh and bones dropped by skeletons and zombies when killed in the sunlight (crows are scavengers after all) as well as the occasional arrow. You'll also likely find feathers and crow eggs*. But if your lucky, you may be able to take advantage of a crow's natural affinity for shiny things and find things like gold nuggets, iron ingots, even diamonds if you're really lucky.
*Crow eggs are smaller than a chicken's egg and have a chance of hatching a baby crow when thrown. Like a chicken egg, they can be used in making cake and pumpkin pie. In the former's case, they can even be used alongside chicken eggs.
Also like wolves, you can tame a crow too. Crows can be tamed by being fed spider eyes. A tamed crow will follow you home (by flying close by as well as even perching on your shoulder once in a while) and build a nest in the tree nearest to your settlement. Tamed crows will attack any zombies* and skeletons that come near your property and collect any items they drop in their nest. Tamed crows also have improved chances of finding the three aforementioned treasures along with finding emeralds and music discs.
*This also includes villager zombies and zombie pigmen
Crows have about as much hp as a chicken, but that amount is tripled when tamed. You can also heal a tamed crow by feeding it rotten flesh, wheat, or any uncooked meat (except chicken). If killed, a crow will drop 1-2 feathers. You can also breed crows by feeding a spider eye to two tamed crows.
Wild crows can still be a nuisance even without you provoking them by stealing wheat from nearby farms. This can be prevented by building a scarecrow* near any wheat crops.
*Stack a lit jack-o-lantern and a block of wool on top of a solitary fencepost. The resulting scarecrow's torso (same model as the player's) will be the color of the wool block used. Scarecrows chase off wild crows while waving their arms around and flashing a light from their faces. They'll drop 1-4 sticks if destroyed.
If anyone has any suggestions to go with this idea or maybe fine-tune one of the suggestions I already added, please let me know.
Just two issues:
1. In the crow's nest where will the items go? In a chest? The crow's nest has to be its own 1 block, or else it is too big and one cannot store anything in nothing...
2. Taming crows doesn't seem to fit. And the mechanics of a tamed crow flying in between trees following your ever-changing path will be hard.
3. Flying mechanics for something like this must be created and that will take a lot of time, but this allows the future release of other birds, which I like.

1. The items will go into the crows nest and you'd be able to see what the crow has put in there by right-clicking it.
2. Tamed crows won't follow players around after their nest has been established. Also, the settlement will be determined by where a player has set their bed. So basically, a tamed crow will set up its new nest in the tree closest to the player's bed. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear earlier.
Thanks for the diamond though.

Amazing suggestion, so:
