I suggest that Dinnerbone and the gang reimplement this, sort of. I think that you should be able to store potions in cauldrons for the above effect. One potion would fill the cauldron a third of the way. You could fill up an empty bottle by using it on a filled potion cauldron. This would fit in with 1.4 (Pretty Scary Update) because, for one, it'd be great for using in conjunction with Witches on adventure maps. (You could also put one of these in a Witches hut, filled with a random potion. That'd be neat, right?) It would even fit with the decoration theme, because colored water is just plain sexy. (It'd also give another incentive to use cauldrons.)
Although I do support this, what would happen if a griefer destroyed the cauldron?
Maybe it should cause a large radius splash potion effect when destroyed, which would make cauldrons kind of like magical bombs. The radius would be larger if there was more fluid inside.
Or maybe... this might be a little too much... dipping leather armor in it for magical clothing?

I think the splash potion effect would be a pretty good idea.
Sounds good. Maybe it should hold more than three potion's worth though - potion flasks seem pretty small compared to a cauldron, and a chest holds 27.
Acting as a super-splash-potion when broken sounds fun, especially if pushing the cauldron with a piston triggers it.

More than 3 would require a partial recode of the cauldron. Three is balanced, and who needs more than a few potions at one time, anyways?
Nice, especially because of the 1.4 update and it gives a use to cauldrons besides for storing water, and who even uses them for that? A single water block in the floor does the same purpose, only provides for infinite water, not 3.
I wonder who voted no.... But like everyone is saying it would bring back the use for a cauldrons because every since the block ID was added they've been useless unless you live in the mountains still why would you ever have to use one?

They can be used to reset dyed leather armor, and they slowly fill up with rain water. Other than that, they have almost zero purpose.

...but that's just like, my opinion, man.
+1
would be nice to have a place to store potions rather then bottles in chests, they take up so much space...

If/until this isn't added maybe someone could make a little mod like this?

Also, I think that even being able to do it with NBT tags would be nice.
