Does anyone else think that there should be a use for Netherrack other than just lighting them on fire over and over again?
I don't want the tools to be good by any means but if I make a trek into the nether I would like to be able to stay there not have to leave every 30mins or so to refresh my tools.
Just an idea that would greatly improve the nether as an area because we would no longer beforced to leave and if we wanted to continue our exploration it would be possible.
I'd be fine with that just as long as i could stay there without evacing for more stone or better
What kind of tools are you using in the nether that break so often you have to go back and forth, wood? Also if you take more than one pick axe and plan on the first one breaking then it isn't much of an inventory space hog now is it?
Netherrack tools would be a waste of developer time, and this thread belongs in the suggestions forum.
They would probably have to be even worse than wood tools, because it's what the nethers made of.
Meh, it could be a tool that last as long as a diamond pickaxe but it can only mine netherrack or nether brick.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
Netherrack tools would be terrible. Although I agree that the Nether needs some ores, some more blocks, etc.; I don't think this is the way to go about it.
Netherrack tools? But why?!
When I visit the Nether, I don't that full of an inventory. I carry the armor I wear, my sword, bow, arrows, axe, pickaxe, shovel, food, wood, a workbench, 2 stacks of cobblestone, a half-stack of iron and a few Swiftness/ Fire Resist potions. If one of my diamond tools happen to run out, I just craft some make-do iron ones. Besides, who'd want to make tools out of a soft bloody rock? At least, that is what it's texture persuades me to believe.
Netherrack is very weak, so no.
If you want to be able to produce weak tools there, plant trees and kill zombie pigmen for gold to make some gold tools.
I think gold durability and wood speed seems ok, considering the SHITLOAD of netherrack in the nether.
