Please note there may be spoilers for the new 'secret' mob. If you aren't okay with this, don't read further.
I was recently reading about the secret mob's (this is the last time he'll be called this. Seriously, if you don't want spoilers, then just leave this thread until you're alright with it) wiki page. I had read about sometimes he'll be distracted by spiders, skeletons, etc. This had brought up a thought:
"This creature we've never seen is invading our world and destroying it, and doing worse than that humanoid figure. Should we try to stop him?"
Now, of course, most creatures wouldn't be smart enough to think this. However, what if it went like this:
Animal's thoughts:"Ah! This creature is murdering my friends! I better stay here and let it kill me!"
An animal should not think this upon seeing a Wither, instead we should change "stay here and let it kill me" to "run away and try to live!"
Meaning it'd 'think': "Ah! This creature is murdering my friends! I should probably run away!"
An animal would ignore most cliffs while running, only avoiding those that cause them to fall farther than 10 blocks. It'd also run at the speed it goes at after taking damage. This does NOT apply on Wolves or Wild Ocelots.
Anyway, Wolves and Ocelots should have a 25% chance of attacking the Wither. Every 16 ticks, it's decided if they'll attack or not again. If attacking, they don't stop until dead or the Wither dies.
Any living but hostile entities (spiders, blazes, ghasts, magma cubes, slimes, cave spiders, creepers, silverfish) would have a 10% chance of attacking the Wither. This is redecided every 24 ticks until the mob is dead or the Wither dies. Also, they make the Wither their first goal, meaning they'll ignore the player until they die (the more likely thing to happen) or the Wither dies. Endermen attack if hit first, as they already do.
An Enderdragon works like a hostile mob, but has it's chance lowered to .05% of directly attacking a Wither. Also, the Wither has a .05% chance of attacking a Dragon. This is decided again every 60 ticks. It's rare because one could abuse the Wither or Dragon's abilities to kill off the other boss with ease.
Undead mobs (skeletons, zombies, zombie pigmen, zombie villagers) ignore the Wither. The Wither also ignores them.
Utility mobs and passive mobs remain untouched.
Wither Skeletons are 100% passive towards a player while a Wither is in the same dimension as them and within 32 blocks. They want to let the Wither fight it's own battle.
Anyway, I can see the fact a Creeper attacks a Wither being considered a bad thing since it does damage to that land... but so do it's missed shots, and when summoned, it explodes.
So, if you have any thoughts, post them in the comments section.
TL;DR: Passive mobs run from wither, 'living' hostile mobs have a low chance of attacking a Wither, tamable mobs have a low chance (not as low as a hostile mob's chance) of attacking a Wither.
Also, the reasoning: These mobs haven't seen a Wither. Ever. They don't know what it is, just that it's destroying and killing almost anything in sight, and might just go against it, although they'll probably just die.
No problem. Besides that, this is perfectly balanced.
I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or not. I mean, some people can see this is balanced, but others won't.
But then again, most people don't watch how fast a Wither can kill a group of animals in their free time. Usually takes about 5 seconds per animal if ONE head is targeting them. Two can usually result in instant death.
You forgot good sir, that Creepers are highly intelligent creatures that would GTFO the minute they saw the Wither coming. I suggest you edit that part before the SPC (Society for the Protection of Creepers) or the CAA (Creeper Advancement Association) sees this.
Besides that, this is a good idea. It makes sense for all things living to abhor the soul-sucking monstrosity from the void that is the Wither.
Good except hostile mobs and the Wither dont fight eachother. They stay for a second or two of hostile nature, then turn peaceful to eachother again.
I have always wanted to have the two boss mobs fight. It would be the best ever, would ot not?
"They stay for a second or two of hostile nature, then turn peaceful to eachother again." is the part I'm asking to be changed... Of course, the undead have probably seen a Wither before being revived while in the depths of Hell The Nether.

Boss mobs just ignore eachother. Forgot to include that, sorry.

Why not have them team up?
By ignoring eachother, they basically are. Plus it might be hard to make attacks where they work together... But if there were simple ideas, sure.

I just realized this...it sounds cool. I think I'm going to change it.
Actually, I've seen boss mobs fight. Enderdragon won.
