Minecraft has a great light shader, but is it really THAT good?
Imagine that when you placed a torch on the ground, the area would be lit up with orange-yellow light. What if the light from redstone torches was, well, red? Imagine a minecraft where light was not a bland thing., where it could change the look of anything, from lava pools, to spawn rooms. Wouldn't that be nice?
If you haven't noticed already, lighting is already colored, but it really needs more. Especially that pesky off-white sunlight...
To change something like that would be simple, Mojang would just have to do an update on which the daytime shader was a little more saturated, plus a little yellow tone to it. The night time shader should have a little more white tone to the brighter parts of of it.
This would be a feature that would make vanilla minecraft just a wee bit better. Wouldn't YOU like it?
Dinnerbone had actually mentioned a month or so back that they're going to add the ability to have more light colours in game. He said he'll put it off for another time because it's difficult to code...
I would personally love that kind of addition. It would give Minecraft a much warmer feel.
Actually, Dinnerbone said they were working on some kind of total rendering overhaul in a different suggestion (I'll grab a link). Maybe this could be a part of it.

Me: "Yes."
