Minecraft includes an adventure, in which you must try to find diamonds and go to the nether and go to the end and kill the enderdragon. Well, I think there should be some side quests. They can be repeated, provided that they spawn here. The Game will know what is part of a Side Quest instead of just normal blocks, and they are like adventure mode in that they cannot be broken until the quest is complete. Here they are:
1. The Cursed Island
In the Cursed Island, there is a medium-sized island that only spawns relatively far away from land in the ocean. There is a Maze with leaves that don't decay. Inside, There are vicious monkeys that will attack. There is a chest with a key, which is needed to open the door to the cobblestone tower at the end. There are 3 floors. The first floor contains what look like stone carvings of birds, but will shoot fireballs when in range. The 2nd floor contains crushing traps. When a certain tile is walked on, you will be crushed. The top floor contains a Phoenix. It is not affected by TNT. When killed, It will drop a golden feather. The Golden feather can be crafted with an ender pearl and a Diamond Helmet to make a Shaman's Hat (Not a reference to religion but rather RPG games). The Shaman's Hat can be used for Necromancing. I will not go into detail in this thread, rather i will start another one.
2. The Ancient Sea Cavern
In the ancient Sea Cavern, there is a medium-sized cavern. It has a gate with 2 Trident-Wielding Guards. They both must be slain to gain access, because the tridents they drop must be placed in the doors. They act as keys. Inside the Cavern, there is a Hydra. It has many heads, and each one must be fought off. Each head will regenerate after 2 and a half to 3 minutes. When slain, it drops a hydra scale, which is required to tame Water Imps, which spawn in water at light level 7 or less. Also, the Tridents can be recovered and used after the battle.
3. The Hive of the Giant Insects
In the Hive of the Giant Flies, there is a series of huge halls. The doors to the next hall does not open unless all the insects in the hall are slain. In the first hall, there is a bunch of huge flies. Their bites cause the nausea potion effect. In the second hall, there are huge ants. There are 2 types: Black and Fire. Black ants are more common, and they just do regular damage. But Fire Ants shoot fireballs from their noses and have slightly higher health than the standard black ants. In the 3rd and final Hall, there are Giant Rats (Yes, they aren't Insects). They can both poison and do direct damage. In the Boss dome, There is Beelzebub, a tall, humanoid with wings. When it is slain, it drops an insect tamer, which does what it says. Giant Rats and Spiders of any kind do not count; only Silverfish, Ants, and Flies.
4. The Ruthless Leviathan
I cant really come up with a better name. But basically, its just the Leviathan. It spawns deep in the ocean. When the player comes within a certain radius of it (maybe 32-64 blocks?), It will come to the surface and attack. Upon being slain, It will drop the Indigo Orb, which can be used in Necromancing.
5. The Volcano of the Desert
I cant come up with a better name for this either. It is a Volcano made of Stone that lies in the desert. It has a pool of lava at the summit with streams of lava running down the side. When you climb to the top, lava will splash out on all directions, and the Behemoth will jump out and land about 30 blocks away from the volcano. When killed, It will drop the Crimson Orb, which can be used in Necromancing.

They are to give minecraft a better purpose than "Find diamond, go to the nether, kill the enderdragon"
