The Emaciater
Have you guys ever accidently made an item, thus wasting the materials you currently have? I have thought of a possible end to this. Behold, the EMACIATER!
Crafting recipe:
Now, how does one use the Emaciater!
Tools that have been used should NOT be allowed to revert back to their materials, else tools would have infinite durability. Some items, like cake, shouldn't be allowed to emaciate, as it would give out duplicate buckets by simply putting the buckets you used in a chest. Finally, you should only be allowed to emaciate an item that you have previously crafted. This prevents one from buying a diamond hoe from a villager, reverting it to the materials, adding another diamond from the blacksmiths chest, and making a diamond pick axe.
If you were to emaciate a torch, you'd need 4 torches to get the 1 coal and stick, as when you craft a torch, you get 4.
Enchanted items should not be allowed to be emaciated, and emaciation should require experience to perform. More expensive tools require more experience to perform the emaciation.
Thanks Twister1134 for fixing majority of the flaws in the original post, and for the GUI interface and crafting recipe gui.

Overpowered. Say you use up a diamond sword to almost being broken, then you pull it apart and put it back together. Instant repair.
And even if you could not put in anything that is damaged, you could just use whatever item you want for as long as you need it, then just pop it apart and use the materials in something else.
Just seems like it would make it so you don't have to go out and collect as many materials;
I'll have more pics on the GUI, but lemme state some things first.

I would assume it would take durability in mind and give you materials accordingly, if it would accept tools at all.
A nearly broken diamond sword, say about 10 uses, it would probably only give you a stick or so.

Also, since crafting items can create more than one item, like, 4 torches from coal and stick, then 4 torches must be needed to emaciate coal and a stick.
In my opinion, this is a good idea, but should not work on all items. Likewise, certain items should cost more experience than other items. For instance, if you were emaciating a diamond sword, it should cost a lot more experience than a wooden sword.
Maybe adding a Nether Star in the center of the crafting grid would make this thing more balanced.

No problem. I have a lot of spare time, too much to be specific, and should at least do something for the community while I can. I also like to support good ideas.
While it is true that some items can be broken down and re-crafted with the crafting grid, like gold (don't know of anything else), the ability to un-craft almost any item, as long as it is balanced and not able to be abused, would definitely help out game play. It would also allow certain resources to become renewable, like diamonds.
It would also give players a choice, whether to enchant, or emaciate.
I'm sorry if this was suggested before.

Yes. I like this. Thanks.
Here's the GUI you were trying to explain.
