We just need a secondary model that changes the body shame of the default steve model slightly, it could be slightly thinner, shirter, and have triangle curves on its sides :3
For all the people saying "They can just upload a skin"....How would you like it if they make a female steve the default skin?
...Then I'd just make a skin that looks like a man. I'm not sure I understand why that would be a problem.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
For all the people saying "They can just upload a skin"....How would you like it if they make a female steve the default skin?
You mean like Tomb Raider? Or Metroid? "Whatever." That's what I'd think.
You have not yet fully explained why you think it would improve the game. Would it make it a fuller, more immersive experience? Would there be new actions, events and abilities that are gender-based that would improve the game? Would it fill in an inconsistency with the Minecraft world as we know it?
I believe the answer to all three of these questions would be no.

I hate people who complain. I hate spiders. I hate people who own an Xbox One. I hate people who like sandbox games. I hate people who like first person shooters. I hate people who like explosions. I hate people who like video games. I hate people who are hateful. I hate people that don't like spam. I hate people who like cake. I hate people who type in proper grammar and spell words properly on the internet. I hate hypocrites.
I can see and respect why that won't happen. So if you really want to have a female model in minecraft, get a client side mod that reads a pixel on the skin, and loads an appropriate model. Yeah, others might not see you as you want to be seen, but you will see you as you want to be seen, which is really all that matters o.0
And for comments on how "That wouldn't solve the problem if an RP server wants to show gender!!", the server should require that mod on every client. Solved.
Personally, I think a female model wouldn't look very good. All the other minecraft mob models and the player model are composed of rectangular prisms and cubes. If the model was different for a female, I have a feeling the changes would either be too subtle or too sexist - And cause it stand out from the other models in the game.
An easy alternative, again, would just be to get yourself a female skin.

But Steve isn't male!!!!! "How would you like it if they made a male Steve the default skin?" is just as meaningful a question, because right now the default model is neither. It is meant to, and looks like, a gender neutral character.

Also there are only female bovines and female chickens.
It almost seems like there exists only one gender for each race, also they still manage to reproduce nonetheless
You see, although villagers all look male, there are really females. It's just that they all like the same clothes, and the uni-brow and large nose is a symbol of awesomeness in villager society.
Epicness, since the evil human corporation called Mojang captured these Stevians, they have given time to use some plastic surgery
Indeed. They have developed an amazing form of the surgery, that takes any amount of time to perform, but only takes seconds to apply (referencing the making and applying of skins)

Do you desperately need boobs on the female player and junk hanging out from the male player to distinguish the gender?
Please, just use a skin.

They can also change their appearance to their liking with a few clicks of a mouse.
